Stop Snoring Home > Snoring Fatigue The Serious Effects of Snoring FatigueSnoring fatigue may seem like an impossibly simple problem. After all, snoring isn't really a serious issue. It's not like you're keeping yourself and others awake with your snoring, right? Actually, snoring fatigue Snoring fatigue is just like many other issues that don't really harm you in and of itself, but can keep you from being as healthy as you should be. Consider what snoring does and what it causes. Snoring is usually nothing more than a vibration, often made more audible by the fact that the person who snores is breathing only through his or her mouth. But like most noises, it has the power to wake up those trying to sleep. In the case of chronic snoring, even the most sound sleeper will likely be awaked by the noise. This is true of both the person who snores and others in the house. To complicate the issue of snoring fatigue, the person who snores often wakes himself (or herself) up within the first few snores. And those first few snores often happen just when the person is falling asleep. That means that the snorer is in a constant state of near-sleep but is constantly being awakened. Because the person will typically only fall into a deeper sleep after hours of repeating this scene, snoring fatigue can quickly become a major problem. The person who snores often suffers from other problems as well, such as sleep apnea and nasal congestion. This increases the severity of snoring fatigue. But is snoring fatigue really such a problem? After all, it's just a case of being tired and it's not as if the snorer (and others who are constantly being awakened) are ill, right? Actually, snoring fatigue can be a chronic problem that can lead to some real health issues. Up to a point, a person's body can deal with fatigue. But there comes a point at which fatigue drains the body's ability to cope. Infections become more numerous and the body can't fight them off. Physical and mental stress take a heavier toll than they would on a person who is well rested. The bottom line is that snoring fatigue can eventually lead to some serious health issues simply because the body needs uninterrupted sleep time to recuperate from the day's activities.
